Ideas for Small Pieces >*** Skill level: Ideal for beginners but will still challenge experienced painters This seminar covers a wide variety of techniques that can also be effective on larger pieces, but we work on lots of small things ( boxes, ornaments,etc ) to give everyone a chance to try out all the different techniques. The emphasis is on lusters although I also cover some painting ideas. See pix on the right to see some of the techniques covered. Portraits Skill level: no previous portrait experience needed.I will work step by step ..but china painting experience needed This seminar will cover portrait techniques with the completion of a pretty girl. Emphasis is on how I translate a photo into a painting, how to capture a likeness. Some pieces will additionally have emphasis on decorative techniques like dichroic glass fusion.Class will all work on the same piece. Family Portraits Skill level:all skill levels although it is an intensive class This seminar is more intense than the portrait seminar. Barns or English Cottages Skill level : fine for beginners My preferred method of working is to offer the students their choice of several photos of English cottages or barns and have them design their own piece. Class will include helping the student work out all aspects of the designing process...Emphasis is on design and having the students come away with a unique piece and an understanding of the design process..
